How to become a partner

Each partner team should be either a legal student entity or an informal group of young people. Each partner team must have a team leader. Team leaders cooperate with organizing team and are equally responsible for the correct implementation and attendance of the project, along with securing active participation of all participants.

Each team leader should fill the Commitment Letter, and then scan and forward it to the organizing team for submission to the YOUTH agency, before March 31st, 2008. Also, you must submit till mid-April this original Commitment Letter in the designated postal address, otherwise participation will not be granted valid. Please note that if your student club is a legal entity, you should fill the exact name in the corresponding form, provide a brief description, sign and stamp it using entity’s stamp. Otherwise, if your student club doesn’t have the status of legal entity, then fill your department, followed by your university, provide a brief description of your activities and then sign it as well.

Who can participate

In Youth exchanges can participate young people aged between 13 and 25 that are residents in one of the European Union states, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey. A very small number of participants may be over 25 years, without however exceeding the age of 30 years old, until the submission of the project application.

Each partner team should be composed of 5 participants, four young participants plus one team leader.

Team Leaders

Unlike young participants, there is no age limit for team leaders.

YOUTH Grant

YOUTH Programme Grant will provide during or after the project the following:

- 70% reimbursement of actual travel costs from home country to hosting country (airfares – economy seats, rail tickets – second class, boat fares) after full submission of original travel documents (tickets, boarding passes, etc)

- Accomodation and full board

YOUTH Programme activities are designed on co-financing. Please note that we currently estimate that each participant should contribute around 80-100 euros.

Advance Planning Visit

The preparation phase of a multilateral exchange is the phase of prime importance for its success. During this phase partner teams should discuss/agree on the theme of the project and get informed on the practical parts and methods of working during the project.

We deem it necessary this year to arrange an advance planning visit by partner teams to the hosting team, some months before the actual event. This visit can be guaranteed only after the application has been approved by the YOUTH agency and normally lasts 2 days (not considering days of travel). Maximum 2 participants from each partner team can participate in the advance planning visit on the condition that the second participant is a young participant.

Advance Planning Visit could also be financed by the YOUTH Grant providing 100% reimbursement of travel costs, plus a daily lump sum per participant for accommodation and boarding.
